Last week we wrote about the Pluto-Mars opposition, which had its effect on the mundane level, but of course there are also effects on other levels. After all, astrology describes the entire cosmos from the highest, most comprehensive level to the lowest, most trivial level. The next event is of such a “low” level, but it is a very nice example on the basis of which you can see how electional astrology works and what you can do with it in an everyday way. This case is about a meeting of an association.
Heavy purse
This association held its annual meeting last Tuesday and usually that is an extremely soporific event. The writer of this blog should know because he was the chairman of this club for many years. In 2023, however, a new board took office that now held its second annual meeting. Normally I would not be there anymore because I am no longer an active member, but the agenda contained some striking, somewhat worrying points. The new board gave itself financial benefits from the cashbox I left so well-filled and therefore came up with a budget that structurally went into the red.
Ascendant
That is why I decided to attend the meeting anyway, I had already saved this association from dissolution several times with a careful financial policy. Of course, I was curious what that looked like astrologically because the financial side seemed a bit explosive. The meeting would start at eight o’clock and it was immediately clear that the new board had not thought of electional astrology! At 20:00 the Ascendant changes signs, from Libra to Scorpio. Lord 1 is the meeting and at the beginning just before eight o’clock Venus would have been the meeting, but from eight o’clock it is Mars.
Venus Harmony
Of course, that makes quite a difference! With Venus you can discuss some precarious matters a bit better than with Mars. Especially, because Venus is in exaltation in the chart and will therefore show its best, most peace-loving side. it is also in the fifth house of pleasure, so the much-needed humor will not be lacking. Venus is conjunct the inhibiting somewhat biting Saturn, but Venus also disposes the Great Malefic by elevation so that will remain within limits.
Mars fire
After eight o’clock that influence is much less because then the fiery Mars becomes Lord 1 of the meeting, and it is in opposition to Pluto! Suddenly fiercely explosive discussions, and so it was. Not only is the opposition of Mars with Pluto fierce, the battle planet is also on Praesepe, the Heart of Cancer in which there is no longer a unifying principle. The Lunar Mansion is not really peaceful either, but it does describe the central theme very clearly, it is Al Thurayya, a Moon-Mars Manzil that is associated with fragmentation and the pursuit of money and matrial property. This example also shows how you can use elections practically, by simply starting at a quarter to eight, it would all have been a lot less fiery!
