On 1 May Italian driver Alessandro Zanardi passed away, who had become a symbol of resilience and perseverance due to his extraordinary career. Zandardi drove in a Formula 1 car at the beginning of his career, but after the bankruptcy of his team, he switched to the professional carting circuit. During a race in September 2001 in Germany, he had an accident that would be decisive for his further development. Another driver drove half of his car and his two legs off. Without legs, however, he started a new career as an athlete in para-cycling, with which he also had a lot of success. But again fate struck. In 2020, during a charity relay, he collided head-on with his handbike into a truck. After a year in the hospital, he started rehabilitation again, but he did not fully recover.
Mars-Mercury
Zanardi must have a very special chart, twice a flourishing career was dramatically ended by an accident.
