In recent weeks, the mundane charts were discussed relating to the threatening situation in the east, the ingress chart for next year and the solar return and the progressions based on the Russian radix. So far teh coclusion was hat we cannot immediately expect tensions to ease and that a climax will come in May next year. Still, we have to watch out for tunnel vision and that is why it would be good to look at another chart: the eclipse that precedes May 2026.
Working hypothesis
In classical mundane astrology, the eclipses are one of the four important instruments in addition to the ingresses, the Great Conjunctions and the national charts of countries. The eclipse can be calculated for various places, but we will now first look at the eclipse for Moscow, after all, our working hypothesis is that Russia will expand its military action at some point in the coming year and then it will be more than intensified efforts in Ukraine. There is a lot imaginable about how and where exactly that will happen, but it will not be something of a small scale.
Ass
In the chart of the Lunar Eclipse of March 3, which precedes the climax month of May ’26, the Southern Ass is on the Ascendant. The Southern Ass is part of the crisis zone near Praesepe – next to Algol the second crisis zone of very unpleasant stars – the fresh Chinese name of Praesepe is the Exhalation of Piled-Up Corpses. It is also striking that Mars, the war planet is Lord 10, one of the most important house rulers and it has just changed sign, now ist is stronger in its triplicity in a Water sign in the eighth house of death.
Synastry
The eclipse is a Lunar one and the Sun is Lord 1, so Russia is directly involved in the eclipse and is not the Luminary that goes out, it is the Moon-side of the others that becomes dark. The degree of the eclipse falls in the radix of Russia on Venus, but that is not reassuring because Venus is in its fall in the Russian radix conjunct the swirling chaotic Neptune. That is a Venus that can show little of its peace-loving nature. Lord 7 of the opponents of Russia in the eclipse is Saturn in his fall, also conjunct Neptune and on Difda the tail of the Sea Monster that threatening to devour princess Andromede chained to an island. So this eclipse chart could very well fit the idea we are investigating here.
