Last week, Hans Wiegel, the remarkable retired politician who left his mark on Dutch politics especially in the 70s, passed away. He transformed the somewhat old-fashioned liberal VVD from a party for rich people into a real people’s party and thus laid the foundationa for the later liberal dominance. The consequences of this are still visible to this day, and Wiegel was also the very first to adopt a somewhat populist tone, although he always did it with humor and respect, without the agressive bitterness that you often see today.

In 1980 he lost his wife in a traffic accident, a huge blow, but unbelievably enough it repeated itself in 2005. He was then married to the sister of his deceased wife and also lost her in a traffic accident!

So death played a very big role in his life and you can see that very clearly. On the cusp of the eighth house of death we see Saturn, the general significator of the end, so that is already a double indication. But this Saturn is also on the super-malefic Algol and if that is not enough, Pluto the Lord of the Hades falls on Saturn on Cusp 8 on Algol via antiscion. Four times an indication of death and that very rare unheard-of concentration reflects the so unlikely events. In 1980 when he lost his first wife, the direction of the Ascendant was in opposition to Saturn, 25 years later when he lost his second wife, the progressed Sun made a trine to Saturn!!
