Last weekend, the students’ protests in France, which had been going on for weeks, got totally out of hand, extremist rioters mingled with the demonstrators and it came to looting and a real battle with the police. La Rue (the street) can be quite fiery in France, but this time it is all very violent. A lot of damage has been done and the authorities are struggling to regain control over the situation.
French Revolution
That of course makes you curious about what is happening now in the French horoscope. There are several possibilities to make the chart of France, but what seems very effective is the Great Conjunction (GC) of Saturn and Jupiter before the French Revolution. That was such a radical innovation that you can see this as the beginning of modern France, the data of the GC are 5-11-1782, 9:35:35 LMT, Asc 12.08 Sagittarius. Of course, you always have to check such a chart to see if it adequately reflects events and that seems to be the case. During his first quinquennat – five-year presidency – the now outgoing president Macron immediately had to deal with the fierce and successful popular resistance of the gilets jaunes in 2018. At that moment in the French horoscope there was a progressed New Moon – always a crisis – on the violent star Tejat in Gemini, brothers who are also warriors!
Aldebaran
As I wrote earlier on this blog, it is immediately noticeable in the progressions at the moment, that the MC moves over royal Aldebaran, the intensely red and martial Eye of the Bull Aldebaran is a rather ferocious star but also the spring star, announcing a new beginning and that is desperately needed in the almost bankrupt country. The MC/IC axis therefore passes over the Aldebaran-Antares star axis, both intensely red and martial, indicating that France is more sensitive to violent outbursts in the longer phase that the MC/IC axis passes over this star axis. The direction of the MC/IC axis is a slow movement, but the faster progressions, moving one degree per month, show why the violence is erupting now. The PF is on death star Antares now in opposition to the MC and the Moon moves over Vindemiatrix the Sorcerer’s Apprentice releasing powers that can no longer be controlled.
