It is sometimes unbelievable that Donald Trump will turn eighty in June, where does the man get his energy from? Has his buddy in the Kremlin perhaps sent him a secret Siberian herb? There will probably be a team of doctors working on him often and perhaps doppelgängers are sometimes used, a well-known trick. Yet it remains surprising and astrologically it also says something, he is now 79 and so his profection Ascendant has come to the eighth house (until June). In the profections, a house describes a year, in the first year of life it is the first house.
Year Lord
In the traditional doctrine of profections, Jupiter, the lord of the eighth house, is therefore called the Year Lord. The position in the radix and the nature of Lord 8 give a kind of summary of the themes that emerging this year. Jupiter is Lord 8 and that means that an end, an irreversible change and/or of course death are central this year. That does not necessarily mean that he will die himself, but he could come close to it. Indeed, he just escaped an attack recently, he is endangering the world economy by his bloody war with Iran, he is withdrawing American troops from Europe and he had the East Wing of the White House demolished in three days. These are all matters of the eighth house.
Monthly profections
With the profections you can determine more than just a summary of the annual theme, you can also see what is happening each month. To see this, you start counting in the house of the profection Ascendant, which is the first month and that was House 8 again this year with its lord, in time that was June 14 (his date of birth) to July 14. The following month, July 14 to August 14, is indicated by the ninth house and its ruler and so you go on. The recent attack on Trump took place on April 26 and if you count from the eighth house you come to the sixth house of setbacks and accidents in April. In the radix, Lord 6 is the Great Malefic in detriment Saturn conjunct Venus/Lord 10 on violent Procyon.
Day
You can even make daily profections with 2.5 days per house (start counting in the house of the Monthly Profection Ascendant). Then you come to House 10, on the MC is Algol, the most evil star in the firmament, Lord 10 is Venus who makes that conjunction with Saturn in deteriment on Procyon. So you can see why kings and popes had a court astrologer and that the number twelve is one of the basic numbers of creation. Because profections are nothing more than an (astrological) operationalization of the number twelve.
