Our modern colleagues are always intensively involved with transits, in traditional astrology that is a lot less. First of all, we have the whole package of forecasting techniques at our disposal, which is much more than the moderns, who only use 5% of the effective astrological methods. Secondly, the transits are put in their right place in the hierarchy, they are only the very last piece of a prediction. If all other relevant cahrts show that something is going to happen, then a transit can show when exactly, in which week or even on which day.

Mars-Pluto

Last Saturday I was a bit worried because on that day Mars came into opposition with Pluto.  That is of course an extremely intense aspect and you know that if tensions have built up somewhere in the world in the charts relevant to that place, “it” will happen on or around this day.  To determine where that could be, would of course require much, much more research, if you have no idea where to look, that’s too much. But indeed, the opposition between Mars and Pluto did strike, and not just a little.

Explosie Ba

Sunrise chart

In the large Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, a huge explosion took place that day, resulting in many injuries and deaths, a major disaster! The chart of the sunrise of that day at that place clearly shows the explosion, so we are looking at the very bottom of the scale of techniques only at the day chart. We take sun-rise because traditionally, a day does not start at mid-night but with the rising of the Sun, which makes much more sense.

Expansive

In this chart you can of course see that opposition, but also the further positions that put things on edge. For example, the chaos-causing Neptune is in opposition via antiscion to Venus, who is Lord 1 in this place and thus symbolizes the city with its harbor. Venus / Lord 1 falls on the expansive North Node and is in exaltation, giving an image of blowing up twice. It also means that the opposition Venus/Neptune falls over the nodal axis via antiscion, and this axis always announces something dramatic. Venus/ Lord 1 – the city – is also afflicted by malefic Saturn conjuncting  it!

T-square

The explosion opposition Pluto-Mars is almost exact and the Sun forms a T-square with this opposition, although this perfected three days earlier. So it is not entirely precise, but this always concerns a combination of dangerous factors. This also applies to Jupiter, the Air Planet in Detriment  in an Air sign, which is Lord 8 of death in this day chart. But that only becomes dangerous when it is stromgly emphasized in one way or another. And yes, by antiscion, this Jupiter is conjunct the IC cusp 4 of ports in the Water sign of Cancer.
