There are various methods in astrology to follow in detail what is happening in a chart and therefore in a life. With the rapid progressions/directions of the Moon, the Pars Fortunae (the Part of the Moon) and the Part of the Sun, you can often find the month that something, which has already been indicated by other positions in relevant charts, will happen. These fast factors move 1 degree per month and so you can achieve a decent degree of precision with that alone. In addition to the rapid progressions, you have of course the lunar return, and less well-known the hebdomades – the division of the year into seven planetary periods – and the tertiary directions.
1 day = 1 month
The tertiary directions are calculated using a key similar to that of the secondary progressions. Instead of the secondary key of 1 day = 1 year, you use a tertiary key of 1 day = 1 month. So you get directions indicating what we can expect on a small timescale of months. It will be clear that you always will interpret the tertiary directions in the context of techniques such as the solar return and the secondary progressions, which give a picture of what will happen in a year. To make it all concrete, the tertiary MC moves one degree per month and the Moon one degree every two days.

Praesepe
In the recent post about the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on January 3, it was described how the rapid progressions (Moon, PF, Part of the Sun) indicated the month that this would take place. Also on the scale of the tertiary progressions Maduro’s abduction by the Americans can be seen very clearly, but with tertiary directions you can also (almost) find the day. In Maduro’s tertiary directions calculated for the day of his abduction (January 3), the MC is on Asellus Borealis, the Northern Donkey which is part of the evil crisis zone of Praesepe from 6° to 8 ° Leo. The MC moves one degree per month, so Maduro will have to watch out around the turn of the year.
Fast Moon
With the movement of the Moon you can achieve even more precision, the Moon has a tertiary speed of one degree every two days. The position of the Moon in Maduro’s tertiary directions calculated for the day of his abduction is astonishing, he is just one degree beyond the tertiary Mars and a tertiary degree is only two days in time. That Mars over which the Moon passes, is again conjunct Pluto and that gives a clear picture of what happened, a sudden overwhelming (Pluto) violent action (Mars). The amazing thing is that with tertiary direction you can (almost) find the day that something will happen even without checking any transits!
