This week something very remarkable happened in American politics, the richest city in the country New York elected a socialist and a muslim from the Democratic party, with roots in Uganda as its new mayor. After all the far-right violence of Donald Trump who seemed to successfully silence all opposition in the country, there was suddenly a powerful dissenting voice, from Trump’s city itself. That unlikely new mayor is Zohran Mamdani, born in Kampala to Indian parents and he won the voters’ favour by promising free childcare, free public transport and lower rent. The New Yorkers were fed up with the supremacy of money.
Communist
Trump of course expressed his disgust, called Mamdani a communist and even went so far as to support Mamdani’s opponent, also a member of the Democratic Party he so detests! Would Mamdani’s election prove to be a turning point that will slow down the transformation of the US into an evil dictatorship? It remains to be seen, but the tensions that this raises are considerable, it seems to me that for the brand new and youngest mayor of New York ever, it is not a superfluous luxury to take a good look at his security. A socialist and a coloured mulim born in Africa at the head of the American city is something very special that will undoubtedly evoke a lot of feelings.
Spica
The natal data of Mamdani are known with a Rodden A status and therefore very reliable: 18-10-1991, 1:15 BGT Kampala, Asc 00.01 Leeuw. His radix is interesting but first we look at his solar return which of course has just started. And yes, there you see that he has the Sun on Spica from his radix and that Sun is of course also Lord 1, most pronounced Mamdani himself. Spica can take you far, often further than you might expect! Anyway, that’s the radix and that doesn’t count in a solar return of course because the Sun is always automatically in the same place, but it does indicate why he has come this far.

In the solar return, however, it is also the stars who play the leading role again. It is immediately the MC that attracts all attention and it will be clear that a lot of success is promised this year! The planet of politics and governance Jupiter is conjunct the MC which is already very positive for him, but Jupiter is also on royal Pollux, the immortal Twin who triumphs in battle. On the MC is the very bright and therefore very powerful Procyon, the main star of the Small Dog that always outsmarts the powers that be in its own handy way! In the first house and therefore with a lot of influence Mars/ Lord 1 conjunct Mercury are on the royal South Scale. The stars indicate the success crystal-clear, but that last conjunction requires some further research.
